That plan you've got? The one you've dreamed up, analyzed, scheduled for, are counting on...yup, that one? It's not a guarantee. Sorry. It's not.
It can't be. Because everything is constantly changing. New people walking in...new information becoming available...new choices presenting themselves. Life is ever-changing, ever-evolving, ever-revising.
And thank goodness!
Stagnation would be so, so boring!
The real adventure of life lies in that constant revision.
Life is about making plans, and coming to terms with all the epic ways in which they can fail.
Epic.
Epic fails.
Epic fails that either lead to disaster or discovery.
Epic fails that lead to new plans.
Epic fails that cause you to revise.
Sure, you can hold on to that original plan you had as it falls to pieces, kicking and screaming the whole way down. Or you can embrace it's failure and follow as that leads you to something altogether new and different. You can stagnate in resistance to change, or you can go with the flow and let life happen.
You can stumble, and you can fall. In fact, I'm betting on it. We all stumble, and we all fall. But it's how we get back up that really matters in the end. We can either choose to keep stumbling and falling, or we can revise and find a path on which we're more successful.
