T.S. Eliot wrote “For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice.”
How better to send along our well wishes to friends and family alike, then with such an expertly crafted reminder to move forward and allow for time’s passage to change us into what we next need to become. The challenges of the year(s) now passed belong to memory alone, but the lessons we’ve learned about empathy, self-sufficiency, self-care, reaffirming relationships in a time of imposed distance, and creating solutions, have forever altered us.
And so it is with our new selves that we’ve entered this New Year…free to make of it the very best we can, and free to fill it with our freshly learned wisdom and experience and our own forever-changed voices.
